Today, we drove across the island from Port Antonio to Negril. We left around midday and got here at 10pm. We had a few stops along the way but it was still a looooong day.

We had a tour of Geejam yesterday (a really exclusive hotel with a recording studio used by the likes of Diplo and Alicia Keys) and their manager connected us with the manager at the Trident group so we were able to take a look around on our way out of Port Antonio. Below is a pic of us all having pina coladas at Geejam.

My god, two very amazing spaces. Beyonce, Solange and Blue Ivy have stayed at the Trident resort, which features some stunning villas that look straight out onto the sea and have their own private pools (all except one villa). Below is a pic of me riding one of the random concrete sheep they had on the lawn at Trident and a pic of the view looking out over the pool area.

Snoop Dogg, Shabba Ranks and Shaggy have filmed music videos at Trident Castle, which is a huge, very real looking castle built in the 70s by a German Baronness. It has eight bedrooms and a sea-side turret that makes you feel like you’re inside a seashell.

We then drove to Goldeneye in Oracabessa, which was also amazingly pimp. Half the villas backed onto a deep aqua, man-made lagoon and the other half onto Goldeneye’s private beach. We stayed here for lunch and a few drinks and then went for a swim, even though it was quite windy. Also, Will, Jada and Willow Smith were sitting at the table next to us at lunch. So that was pretty amazing. Me at Goldeneye below.

After another few hours drive and a wrong turn in Montego Bay, we finally made it to Negril. Our rooms are not as grand as some of our previous accommodations and there are no mosquito nets. We’ve already killed a few mozzies so this has me a bit concerned as I always get bitten and there’s a mosquito-borne virus going around called ChickV, which is pretty nasty (although supposedly not as prevalent on this side of the island).

Oh well, I think we’ll stay here until Monday when the rest of our group has left and then move to a nicer hotel. Right now, we’re waiting for the other two guys to get ready then we’ll try and find some food, which might be a stretch at 11pm at night but we’ll give it a go!
